Oakman Training Team Bag Two Awards In One Week

Last week was a proud one for the Oakman Training Team as their hard work was recognised by not one but two significant awards.

The first success came at the National Innovation and Training Awards (NITAs) where Oakman won the Best Training Programme. The NITAs recognise innovative training programmes and companies that nurture long-term careers within the industry.

The second success came with a trip to St James’ Palace. Oakman CEO Peter Borg-Neal and HR Director Jill Scatchard-Bolton were honoured to be presented with the Princess Royal Training Award by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal. The Princess Royal Training Awards celebrate UK companies and their outstanding development programmes and impactful training.

In the award’s eight-year history, this is the third time that Oakman Inns have been recognised.

Both awards were in recognition of Oakman’s Ninja Training Programme. Our in house ‘Train the Trainer’ course, tiered from white belt through to black, with 4 key stages.

The programme focuses on key areas of hospitality covering quality of service and product knowledge. The programme is open to all employees with everyone supported on their ninja journey because Oakman understand that our people are the core of our business and what make us great. With an ever-expanding team of qualified ‘Training Ninja’ graduates within the business we are able to deliver exceptional skills at site level. We believe in delighting our guests and this starts by the training of our teams.
