Hampton Hill’s Newest Pub Opens In Time For Christmas
Following six months of intense building work, last week saw Hampton Hill’s much anticipated new pub, The Beech House, being officially opened by the Deputy Mayor of Richmond, Cllr Mona Adams at a VIP Party. Attended by some 250 residents, business owners and community leaders, guests also included TV Presenter, Amanda Lamb, Karen Papirnik, the Principal of The Jack and Jill Family of Schools and Georgia Ballantine, Director of Hampton Hill Business Association.
Peter Borg-Neal, CEO and founder of Oakman Inns, said: “The evening was a splendid start to our relationship with everyone in Hampton Hill and people have been very kind in their expressions of delight at our opening. I had the pleasure of meeting some of the local Rugby team players and we are in talks with Teddington RFC about sponsoring their Minis and Juniors, the fifteenth local team to be supported by Oakman Inns.”
The Beech House offers a seasonal, freshly-prepared menu of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, which can be seen being prepared in the open, theatre-style kitchen. With hand-crafted Neapolitan pizzas baked by the pizzaioli in the wood-fired pizza oven, or succulent fish, vegetables or meats grilled over a Josper oven, the sights and smells are enough to remind one of summer holidays every day of the year. There is also an impressive range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options and an innovative children’s menu. Of course, man cannot live by food alone and a wide-ranging hot and cold drinks menu along with the best in craft and international beers, wines and cocktails keep everyone’s spirits solar-powered.
Cllr Mona Adams said: “The Beech House team made me most welcome. This kind of venue will introduce other people and businesses to this delightful corner of South-West London and it’s good to see a company like Oakman Inns investing in our High Street to the benefit of all.”
Georgia Ballantine, Director of Hampton Hill Business Association, commented: “The Beech House is a great addition to Hampton Hill. Delicious cocktails, freshly prepared dishes and friendly staff make for the perfect experience for a night out in our local High Street!”
Karen Papirnik, Principal of The Jack and Jill Family of Schools added: “We welcome the Beech House team to the High Street and are pleased that two wonderful period buildings are now back to their former glory and open for business. The Beech House General Manager, James Bird, added: ““Being open all day for every meal, from breakfast to dinner and all relaxing stops in between, my team of 40 and I have been heartened by the positive and encouraging comments about the design, our food, drinks and service. The design concept, which was created by award-winning Architectural Designers, Macaulay Sinclair, has received nothing but praise since the opening. There is an air of space, yet there are intimate seating areas everywhere that are lit to be inviting and which are finished so comfortably that leaving is a wrench. A large, gas-log fire provides a focal point and dogs are welcome - with their owners - to warm themselves by the fire. Wood is a predominant material – baron oak, charred larch and blackened pine, the majority of which is reclaimed. Banquette seats are upholstered in shades of teal, terracotta and caramel leather with large loose back cushions in sumptuous velvets.
