Oakman Inns Update

With the ever-changing news around Covid-19, we wanted to update you on the actions that Oakman Inns are taking, both to support our teams and our customers. It is essential for all of us to act responsibly at this time, but we also understand the importance of offering a degree of normality to our daily lives. Your local pub has always been seen as a place that is there for you. A place to come and spend time with friends and loved ones, or an alternative setting to working away from the office. A place for our local community to come and feel at home, a break from isolation, loneliness and disconnect.

The well being of our staff and our customers is of the utmost importance to us, and we would like to reassure you that we’re taking extra precautions so that you can still enjoy a visit to your local Oakman Inn should you choose to.

Our Team
Hand washing and cleanliness has always been of the highest importance for us and our teams, but we’re asking everyone to be mindful of washing their hands even more regularly throughout their working day. Our teams are making sure that they are not handling any food or drink without washing their hands. We’ve also increased the level of cleaning we’re carrying out in site, including wiping down of surfaces and door handles at regular intervals.

Our Pubs
In our bathrooms we have doubled up on hand soap so everyone can be washing their hands as often as possible. On our bars, hand sanitiser is available for customers to use when visiting our pubs. Our restaurant team will only be laying the table once customers are seated.

Our Customers
For any customers visiting an Oakman Inn we ask that you take sensible precautions to help us at this time. We’re asking that all our customer wash their hands when entering our premises and make use of the hand sanitiser available on our bars. If customers are displaying flu-like symptoms, including a high temperature or persistent cough, please do not visit our pub. Please be aware of key symptoms and think of the risk to others.

Our senior team have been working hard to develop a four-point plan for our business.

1. Stay Open - We will continue to offer great food and drink to all our customers whilst we still can. We will of course adapt our approach as and when required to ensure that we continue to protect both our teams and customers. We will practise social spacing and will serve guests in our gardens.

2. Collection – Currently you can order one of our wood-fired pizza to takeaway. Our chefs are working to expand the number of items on our menu that you can collect from your local Oakman Inn and enjoy at home.

3. Delivery - Beyond collection, we will be looking at how we can deliver these meals to your door, allowing you to enjoy great food and drink without having to venture out. This Mother’s Day, enjoy a Sunday roast dinner from  your nearest Oakman at home. We’ll be delivering cooked chilled meals to your door with a set of heating instructions. Choose from either our roast pork, chicken or beef, delivered with all the trimmings and a bottle of wine, or 4 bottles of lager. More information coming shortly.

4. Gift Vouchers - Support us today by buying Gift Vouchers to come and enjoy a meal once some form of normality has resumed. Available online, they can be sent straight to your email inbox. They’re also a way to say ‘thank you’ to that neighbour or friend that has helped you during these uncertain times. Know that when you come back with your gift voucher, you’ll then get our great food, drink and appreciation for supporting us during these challenging times.

We will keep our doors open to our local community as long as we are permitted to and will be taking every possible precaution in our pubs and restaurants to keep our customers and our staff happy and healthy, and support the efforts of our NHS and Government. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

We will be updating our online channels with information of any changes to our plans as and when we are required to.

Thank you for your support

Peter Borg-Neal, CEO, and all the team at Oakman Inns
