Homemade: Apple Crumble

Serves 6

Crumble Mix

  • 125g Butter

  • 1tsp Cinnamon

  • 175g Brown sugar

  • 250g Plain flour

  • 75g Oats

Apple Filling

  • 1.5kg Bramley apples

  • 150g Caster sugar

  • 75g Butter



  1. Mix all crumble ingredients together gently.

  2. Line an oven tray with parchment paper and place crumble mix on top

  3. Bake crumble mix for 20 mins at 180c

  4. Remove from oven and lightly smash mix up, then leave to cool

  5. Peel, de-core and chop apples

  6. Place 75g butter into a sauté pan on medium heat and melt

  7. Once butter has melted, add the apples and sugar, cook for 5-6 minutes until apple is tender

  8. Place apple mixture into a pie dish and top evenly with crumble mix

  9. Bake at 180c for 12 minutes

  10. Serve with custard, ice cream or both
